On Saturday 23th July 2016 the annual Group Charity Dinner Dance was held at the Fairfield, the event was attended by One Hundred & Nine guests supported the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison and his wife Maureen accompanied by the Group Chairman of the Lancaster and District Group Jim Wilson and his partner Pat.

The evening commenced at 6.30pm with aperitifs followed by an outstanding three course meal prepared and served by Mike and Marie Elliott and their staff of the Crown at North Scale.
During the evening there was the standard raffle organised and run by Jackie Wilcock the wife of the Group Charity Steward, which raised the magnificent sum of £470.
The ‘Most Outrageous Shirt Competition’ was won by Reg Wilkinson of the Newby Lodge who won a litre bottle of Grouse Whiskey; Reg re-donated the whiskey to the event which was then auctioned making a further £30 for charity.
Music and entertainment was provided by the excellent Paul Day who can only be described as a truly professional artist who definitely got the evening going and kept it going!
The Bar Staff of the Fairfield need commending they worked tirelessly during the evening to ensure we were all well ‘Hydrated’.
As a direct result of this event a total of £1,822.00 was made for charity.
