Several members of the Furness and South Lakeland group attended the Tercentenary Grand Ball held at the Hilton Hotel, Blackpool.
David Grainger, our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, was accompanied by his good lady Beryl whilst group chairman Peter Schofield and his wife Michelle were also in attendance.
There was a chance to meet up with friends and acquaintances from all parts of the province over an aperitif before the summons came to enter the dining suite.
It proved to be an excellent evening with over 400 people dining. Given the number that were being catered for the food was very good with a plentiful supply of wine provided on the table.
Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison introduced the principal guest who was the Assistant Grand Master Sir David Wootton. It was a pleasure to be able to toast his health at an event where he was actually present.
Sir David made a point of circulating as widely as he could and was introduced to all the party goers representing the Furness and South Lakeland group.
A full write-up on the evening is contained in the provincial news pages of the provincial website. You can view this article by clicking here
